Deustche Oper Berlin Announces Cast Change for ‘Elektra’

The Deutsche Oper Berin has announced a cast change for its upcoming performances of “Elektra.”

The company noted that Anna Larsson will sing the role of Klytämnestra on Feb. 3 and 16, 2022.

Larsson has performed at the Teatro alla Scala, Opéra de Paris, Wiener Staatsoper, Royal Opera House in London, Teatro Maggio Musicale, La Monnaie, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, Finnish National Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, Salzburg Festival, and Festival Aix-en-Provence.

The mezzo joins a cast that includes Catherine Foster, Flurina Stucki, Clemens Bieber, and Tobias Kehrer. Juraj Valcuha conducts the production by Kirsten Harms.

“Elektra” opens on Feb. 3 and will be performed two times until Feb. 16. The production returns in the spring for two performances starring Violetta Urmana, Catherine Foster, Allison Oakes, Burkhard Ulrich, and Tobias Kehrer.
