Detroit Opera has named Lane DeCamp as its new Chief Marketing and Development Officer.

He took over his new role on Jan. 17, 2023, after serving as Chief Advancement Officer at the Fort Worden Foundation. He has also worked with such institutions as Médicins sans Frontières, university medical centers, First Brands, Uniroyal Plastics, Clorox, major hospital chains, and for-profit investment banking clients.

He also served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning for General Electric and was the head of a Credit Suisse First Boston Division.

“I am honored to join Detroit Opera at this exciting time in the company’s history,” said DeCamp in an official press statement. “I’ve been impressed with their vision and how they are executing that vision as part of the renaissance of Detroit. I’m proud to be part of their team.”

“I am delighted to welcome Lane DeCamp to assume a key role with Detroit Opera,” added Wayne S. Brown, President and CEO of Detroit Opera. “The breadth of his leadership experience in cultivating and sustaining support for arts and culture will be a tremendous asset to our organization. Lane brings a record of proven strategic practices wherever he has been assigned. His advocacy for opera and dance, in addition to vast experience with performing arts centers, aligns with the continuing evolution of our company under the artistic leadership of Yuval Sharon, Christine Goerke and Roberto Kalb.”

Next up for Detroit Opera is a production of “Xerxes” in March.
