Star of opera and Broadway, Zachary James, will tread the virtual boards when Des Moines Metro Opera (DMMO) presents “Zachary James on Broadway” on March 19 at 7:30 P.M. CST.

James will perform his award-winning one-man show with Broadway pianist Charity Wicks as a continuation of DMMO’s Virtual Concert Series

The program includes popular Broadway numbers mixed with stories from James’ time performing in the Tony Award-winning revival of “South Pacific” at Lincoln Center and originating the role of “Lurch” in the Broadway adaptation of “The Addams Family.” An interactive post-show reception with James rounds out the evening. “Zachary James on Broadway” earned James “Performer and Vocalist of the Decade” awards from Broadway World Hawaii.

For the local Des Moines audience, DMMO is partnering with Tangerine Foods to provide Dinner-to-Go! packages comprising a gourmet three-course meal, available for pickup or delivery, to make the show a night out at home.

James has appeared in DMMO productions of “Billy Budd” (John Claggart, 2017), “Rusalka” (Vodník, 2018), “Flight” (Immigration Officer, 2018), and “Wozzeck” (Doctor, 2019). He returns to DMMO this summer to make a role debut as Jupiter in Rameau’s “Platée.”
