
Des Moines Metro Opera Announces Broadcasting Partnership & October 2025 Slate With Iowa PBS & Iowa Public Radio
By David SalazarDes Moines Metro Opera (DMMO) has announced a month-long broadcasting schedule in partnership with Iowa PBS and Iowa Public Radio.
The initiative will allow audiences in Iowa and beyond to revisit performances from the company’s 2024 Festival Season, as well as its 2025 production of Janáček’s “The Cunning Little Vixen.”
As part of the company’s ongoing partnership with Iowa PBS, DMMO’s new staging of “The Cunning Little Vixen” is currently available for free worldwide and will stream through November 4, 2025.
Meanwhile, Iowa Public Radio will continue its annual Opera in October tradition with recordings of DMMO operas from 2024 every Saturday at noon local time. Hosted by Jacqueline Halbloom, the series will open with Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” on October 4, followed by Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande” on October 11, Damien Geter and Lila Palmer’s “American Apollo” on October 18, and Strauss’s “Salome” on October 25. Each broadcast will also be available to stream live worldwide on Iowa Public Radio Classical.
