Des Moines Metro Opera Announces 2027 Festival Season Featuring Edward Nelson, Brandon Jovanovich & Brenda Rae

Des Moines Metro Opera’s 2027 Festival Season has been announced.

First up is a new production of Offenbach’s “The Tales of Hoffman” starring Oreste Cosimo in the title role. Lydia Katarina and Barnaby Rea are among the cast. Lisa Hasson is the chorus director. Chas Rader-Shieber is the stage director and David Neely conducts.

Performance Dates: July 2, 4, 9, 14, 17, 22, & 25, 2027


Edward Nelson and Brenda Rae perform in Glass’ “Orphée.” Kristine McIntyre directs the new production. Oyoram is the Visual composer and Christopher Allen conducts.

Performance Dates: July 3, 11, 16, 21, 24, 2027


Britten’s “Billy Budd” features Ian Rucker in the title role. Brandon Jovanovich and Thomas Faulkner join. Lisa Hasson is the chorus director. Kristine McIntyre directs and David Neely conducts.

Performance Dates: July 10, 15, 18, 20, 23, 2027
