Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble Unveils ‘Songs From Hibernation’ Recital Series

Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble has announced “Songs from Hibernation,” a fall/winter recital series that will be live streamed via the company’s official YouTube channel.

The recital series will feature music by a wide-ranging of composers with an emphasis on repertory by BIPOC and woman composers.

First up on the slate will be “Love Inspires,” a showcase by tenor Alonso Jordan Lopez and pianist Chris Fecteau. The duo will perform songs by Handel, Brahms, Ponce, Britten, Lang, Owens, and Quilter.

Streaming Date: Oct. 14, 2020

Next up will be “Hope in a Time of Isolation,” a recital featuring soprano Anna Woiwood and Fecteau. The two will perform music by Verdi, Chopin / Litvinne, Rorem, and Price.

Streaming Date: Oct. 25, 2020

Soprano Addie Rose Forstman and pianist Edward Forstman will present “Shards of Spun Glass,” featuring music by Nailah Nombeko, Nico Muhly, Hub Miller, and Edith Piaf.

Streaming Date: Nov. 1, 2020

That will be followed up by “Love and Nature Uplift the Struggling Spirit” with soprano Christa Dalmazio and Fecteau. They will present music by Previn, Barber, Donizetti, Richard Strauss, and Fanny Hensel.

Mezzo-soprano Christina Esser and Fecteau will perform “Into the Night,” featuring music by Alma Mahler, Amy Beach, Brahms, Schubert, and de Falla.

Streaming Date: TBA Winter 2020-21

Soprano Priscilla Salisbury will be featured in “Sueños de Esperanza,” a series in which she sings of four stories by immigrant women by Henry Mollicone with texts by Maria Marroquin.

“Three Female Romantics” will star Diana Charlop and Fecteau. They will perform music by Amy Beach, Florence Price, and Clara Schumann.

Jessica Bloch and Fecteau will perform music by Robert Owens, Poldowski, Undine Smith Moore, Juliana Hall, Cecil Cohen, and Barbara Strozzi as part of “Hearts on Sleeves.”

Soprano Luismaria Hernandez will present music by Granados, Turina, Antonio de la Cruz, de Falla, Eduardo Toldrá, Villa Lobos, Daniel Catan, Eduardo Cordero, Ginastera, Jaime Leon Ferro, Elenita Santos, and Carla Lucero.

Flavia Darcie and Fecteau will perform “Amazonian Legends,” a concert featuring music by Waldemar Henrique, Chiquinha Gonzaga, and Cacilda Borges Barbosa.

The series will conclude with a recital by tenor James Danner performing music by William Grant Still, Samuel Barber, and Charles Ives.
