Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble Announces Its 2018 Season

Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble has announced its 2018 summer festival dedicated to works by Mozart and Salieri.

Starting on August 11, 2018, and running until August 26, the festival will feature 13 performances of two fully-staged operas, a scenes program, and an intimate recital to be presented in the intimate black-box space of La MaMa Theatre.

Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” opens the festival with Owen Horsley directing the production. Chris Fecteau and Chris Whittaker conduct while Cole Grissom and Eric Lindsey sharing the title role. Other cast members include Eric Lindsey, Jonathan Harris, Jennifer Townshend, Angel Azzarra, Jessica Mirshak, Stephanie Kim Johnson, Morgan Manifacier, Gabriel Hernandez, Elyse Kakacek, Sarah Ann Duffy, Nobuki Momma, Joshua Miller, and Hector Mori.

Performance Dates: August 11, 12m, 17, 19m, 23, 25 

Brittany Goodwin directs the U.S. premiere of Salieri’s “La Cifra” with Catherine O’Shaughnessy conducting the work. The cast will be led by Timothy Stoddard, Rachel Barker, Allison Gish, Stephen Steffens, and Angky Budiardjono.

Performance Dates: August 18, 22, 24, 26m

The festival concludes presenting Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Mozart + Salieri” and excerpts from both Saleri’s and Mozart’s “Così fan tutte.” George & Chris Whittaker conduct Jason Goldberg’s production.
