
Decca Classics Announces Elīna Garanča’s New Album

The famed Latvian mezzo will join Daniel Barenboim and the Staatskapelle Berlin for Elgar’s famed “Sea Pictures.”
The album, which was recorded in the winter of 2019, marks the first time Decca records the famed song cycle in four decades and marks Garanča’s first recording of “Sea Pictures.”
The new album will also include Elgar’s symphonic poem “Falstaff.”
Garanča recently released her album “Sol y Vida,” which explored Latin American songs and was featured in the documentary “Backstage Wiener Staatsoper.” This summer she sings a concert in Germany and returns to the opera stage in February for Verdi’s “Aida.”
The new recording is set to be released on July 24.
