On September 9, 2021, Death of Classical will present composer Paola Prestini in concert with her husband, cellist Jeffrey Zeigler.

The performance will be held at National Sawdust in Brooklyn, in what will be the venue’s first in-person event since the pandemic. The program, titled “Houses of Zodiac,” will give a first look at Prestini and Zeigler’s upcoming album of the same name.

The work combines spoken word, dance, music, and film to explore the relationship between mind, body, and nature. Film projections are done by filmmaker Murat Eyuboglu, with choreography by Butoh dance master Dai Matsuoka and NY Ballet soloist Georgina Pazcoguin. Poetic interludes will include works by Anais Nin, Brenda Shaughnessy, and Natasha Trethewey.

There will be a one-hour reception with a spirits tasting held before the performance, which is open to all ticketholders.
