Death of Classical to Pay Tribute to COVID Victims with the ‘Fauré Requiem’

On October 21, 2021, Death of Classical and The Green-Wood Cemetery will conclude the third season of “The Angel’s Share” with large, outdoor performances of the “Fauré Requiem.”

Curated by Andrew Ousley, the performances will be dedicated to the memory of those lost during the Covid-19 pandemic, with Mark Shapiro leading Cantori New York and soloists Nola Richardson and Joseph Parrish. They will be joined by a reduced 10-piece orchestra.

The program will open with a performance of Carlos Simon’s “Be Still and Know.”

Each evening will have a pre-concert reception, featuring a whiskey & spirits tastings sponsored by Appalachian Gap Distillery, Ume Plum Liqueur, Flying Embers, and more.

All ticket-holders will be required to show proof of at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccination, with masks and social distancing being encouraged during the performance.
