Community members, fellow union members, and orchestra patrons will gather outside the Schuster Center stage door to stand with the Musicians of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra as they perform the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance’s season-opening production of “West Side Story’ without a contract.

The news comes after it was announced the musicians have authorized a strike due to the lack of a contract. The musicians have continued to perform while working without a contract, and they will play Bernstein’s score this weekend under those same conditions.

Supporters will line Ludlow Street to greet the musicians as they arrive for each performance.

The rally will occur on Sept. 26 and Sept. 27, 2026.
