Through April, 2020, Celebrity Series of Boston will be presenting three operatic stars in recital.

Making his debut with the series on April 1 will be bass-baritone Davóne Tines, performing a new vocal project which blends together a number of musical influences. On this, Tines says, “What I have to say, the experience I have to share, has been comprised of early music, Bach, contemporary gospel, and new music. When you put these seemingly different things together and acknowledge the connections between them, you have to acknowledge that there’s something shared among these composers. There’s something that is shared among all people.” For this recital, Tines will be accompanied by pianist Adam Nielsen.

On April 17, Angela Gheorghiu will also be making her series debut, joined by pianist Alexandra Dariescu. The program will include music from Pergolesi, Rameau, Bellini, Tosti, and Brediceanu.

Finally on April 26, Renée Fleming will be joined by pianist Evgeny Kissin for an exciting program of Schubert, Liszt, Debussy, and Duparc.
