David Portillo, Will Liverman & Lauren Snouffer Lead Austin Opera’s 2022-23 Season

The Austin Opera has announced its 2022-23 season which will feature three classic works with all star casts.

The 2022–2023 Long Center Season opens with Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” starring soprano Lauren Snouffer, baritone Emmett O’Hanlon in the title role, and Jack Swanson. Stephanie Rhodes Russell conducts.

Performance Dates: Nov. 5-13, 2022

“Sweeney Todd” will be conducted by Timothy Myers and directed by Doug Scholz-Carlson. The production will star bass Kevin Burdette, soprano, Mela Dailey as Mrs. Lovett, baritone Mark Diamond, and soprano Raven McMillon.

Performance Dates: Jan. 28-Feb. 5, 2023

Bizet’s “The Pearl Fishers” closes out the season with Timothy Myers conducting and starring Madison Leonard, David Portillo, and Will Liverman.

Performance Dates: April 29-May, 2023
