David Pomeroy is set to release his debut album.

The recognized tenor, who recorded the album from Feb. 10 to 13, 2020, will present 10 of opera’s greatest tenor arias with the 65 musicians of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and conductor Marc David at Memorial University in St. John’s, NL.

The arias included in the album were composed by Bizet, Bellini, and Korngold, among others.

The upcoming album will showcase the talents of Grammy and Juno award-winning producer Denise Ball as well as classical music sound engineers Brian Chan, and Jeremy Tusz. The recording will also mark Newfoundland and Labrador’s first-ever opera album with Pomeroy, the only opera singer to have an international career from the area.

Pomeroy’s upcoming album received funding from the province through ArtsNL and from FACTOR Canada, as well as a number of generous private donors and foundations, including the Williams Family Foundation and Elinor Gill Ratcliffe Foundation.

The album is scheduled for release on September 2020.
