Dates for 2023 Riccardo Zandonai International Competition for Young Opera Singers Announced

The 2023 Riccardo Zandona International Competition for Young Opera Singers will be held in northern Italy this July 3 -8.

The 29th installment of the competition will take place in three parts. Finalists will compete for the jury of judges for a lengthy list of prizes including the first prize of €8,000, the second prize at €5,000, and the third prize totaling €3,000. Other awards include the “Audience Prize” which totals €10,000, the Riccardo Zandonai Special Prize at €5,000, the “La Fenice Prize” which awards an audition with the house’s superintendent and artistic director, and many more.

The winners’ concert will be held at La Rocca in Riva del Garda. Participants will perform accompanied by the ORV “Filarmonia Veneta” Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Marco Boemi.

Mietta Sighele and her late husband tenor Veriano Luchetti conceived the competition to support young opera singers worldwide.

Applications for this competition are due by June 26.
