Danielle De Niese & Carmen Giannattasio Lead InClassica Malta International Music Festival 2021 Edition

The InClassica Malta International Music Festival has announced its 2021 slate, which will take place from April 17 to May 11, 2021.

The line-up will include 33 soloists, including Martha Argerich, Grigory Sokolov, Rudolf Buchbinder, Gautier Capuçon, Danielle De Niese, Carmen Giannattasio, Daniel Hope, Gidon Kremer, Denis Matsuev, Andreas Ottensammer and Maxim Vengerov, among others.

In addition to the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and Malta Youth Orchestra, the visiting orchestras will include the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, Russian National Orchestra, and Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.

For the purpose of this article, we will focus on the vocal works only.

Italian soprano Carmen Giannattasio will perform excerpts from the “Crystal Palace” by Alexey Shor. The rest of the program includes Shor’s “Phantasms,” and overtures to Verdi’s “Nabucco” and “I Vespri Siciliani.” Stella Chen will play the violin. Gianluca Marciano will conduct the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.

Australian-American soprano Danielle De Niese will perform with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The program will be announced at a later date. Alexander Shelley conducts.
