Daniela Mack, Andriana Chuchman, Liv Redpath Headline Opera Omaha ONE Festival 2020

Opera Omaha has formally announced its ONE Festival, which is set to kick off on March 20, 2020.

The festival will kick off with Stradella and Ansaldi’s “St. John the Baptist,” in its company premiere. The new production will be directed by Christopher Alden with Stephen Stubbs conducting. The cast will feature Liv Redpath as Salome, Andrew Harris as Herod, Randall Scotting as St. John, Chad Johnson as Consigliere, and Heather Buck as Herodiade. Performances will be at the Midco Glass Building.

Performance Dates: March 25-April 4, 2020

Bellini and Romani’s “I Capuleti e I Montecchi” is next to take the stage, also in its company premiere. Christopher Allen will lead two performances in a production by James Darrah that features Andriana Chuchman and Daniela Mack as Juliet and Romeo. Performances are set to take place at the Orpheum Theater.

Performance Dates: April 3 & 5, 2020

The company will also produce the wold premiere of “MTHR/WMN,” an experiment opera collaboration with Mattie Ullrich.  Cecilia Violetta López, Kate Pomrenke, and Kaitlin Zardetto will star in a work that journals the metamorphosis from womanhood to motherhood.

Performance Dates: March 20-April2, 2020

The festival will also feature CINEsound, an operatic short film festival featuring Jennifer Koh and John Holiday, as well as several Ensembles in Residence, including Collective Reverberations and Cover Motets.

There will also be several special events surrounding the major productions of the festival.
