Daniel McGrew, Wiliam Socolof, Megan Moore Headline Young Concert Artists’ 2022-23 Season

The Young Concert Artists has announced its 2022-23 season taking place in New York City.

While the program works with all classical musicians, for the purposes of this article, we will focus only on the vocal artists.

Making his NYC debut, tenor Daniel McGrew will perform works by Brahms, YCA Composer-in-Residence Nina Shekar, Christopher Berg, and Britten at the Kaufman Music Center’s Merkin Hall.

Performance Date: November  14, 2022

McGrew returns to the Kaufman Music Center with fellow YCA participants bass-baritone Wiliam Socolof, violinist Lun Li, cellist Jonathan Swensen, and pianist Albert Cano Smit, They will present the rarely-heard voice and piano work by Mendelssohn, Julian Anderson’s “I’m nobody, who are you,” and  Wolf’s “Drei Gedichte von Michelangelo.”

Performance Date: March 9, 2023

In part of its “Encore” series, mezzo-soprano Megan Moore and Socolof will give a recital of Schubert, Debussy, Ravel, and Nielsen at the Morgan Library & Museum Gilder Lehrman Hall.

Performance Date: March 15, 2023

The final performance will be a chamber concert featuring all of the YCA participants at Zankel Hall.
