Daniela Mack Headlines ‘The Barber Of Seville’ At Boston Lyric Opera

The Boston Lyric Opera will open its 2018-19 season with a new production of “The Barber of Seville.’

The new production is set to feature rising star Daniela Mack in her company debut and Matthew Worth in the title role. Rosetta Cucchi, who has directed the BLO’s “La Boheme” and “The Marriage of Figaro,” will return to direct the new production of “The Barber of Seville.”

Jesus Garcia, Michelle Trainor, Steven Condy, Jesse Darden, Vincent Turregano, and David Crawford round out the cast, which is set to be conducted by David Angus.

The production will run for five performances at the Emerson Cutler Majestic Theater from Oct. 12 to 21, 2018.

The Rossini masterpiece will be the first of four works that the company will present this season. Others works set to be shown include a new edition of the “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “The Rape of Lucreti,a” and the world premiere of “Schoenberg in Hollywood.”
