Daniel Barenboim Cancels Performances due to Circulatory Problems

Daniel Barenboim has canceled performances until April 22.

The Berlin State Opera announced that due to circulatory problems, the conductor is receiving medical treatment and his doctors have advised him to cancel all performances through April 22.

As a result, the company noted, Giuseppe Mentuccia will conduct the performance of “Cosi fan tutte” on April 14 while Thomas Guggeis will conduct the performance of “Le Nozze di Figaro” on April 16. Meanwhile, Cecilia Bartoli’s recital on April 15 will be accompanied Marie-Eve Scarfone. The program for the recital remains unchanged.

Barenboim is set to return to the stage in May for concerts at the Philharmonie de Paris, IsarPhilharmonie, Bozar, and the Teatro alla Scala with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra.
