By Francisco Salazar

Daniel Barenboim has canceled his entire February calendar due to surgery.

In a statement, the musician’s publicist took to social media and said, “Daniel Barenboim underwent spinal surgery on 6 February and is currently recovering at home. On the recommendation of his attending physicians, he will take a break from performing until the end of February and plans to return to performing from the beginning of March.”

The conductor and pianist is set to return to the stage on March 6 performing in recital with Yulia Deyneka. He is also set to conduct the Berlin Philharmonic in Verdi’s Requiem and is set to lead a production of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” at the Berlin State Opera in March and April.
