By Francisco Salazar

The Dallas Symphony has announced a cast change for its upcoming performances of “Eugene Onegin.”

The company noted that Melody Wilson will sing the role of Olga replacing Deniz Uzun, who was originally scheduled.

Wilson has performed with Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Union Avenue Opera, Theater Bremen, the Hungarian State Opera, Opera Delaware, and the Wexford Opera Festival. Her repertoire includes the music of Wagner, Mozart, Britten, Cilea, and Puccini, among others.  She previously sang the role of Olga at the Seattle Opera.

Wilson will join a cast that includes Etienne Dupuis, Nicole Car, Pavol Breslik, Brindley Sherratt, and Keith Jameson. Fabio Luisi will be conducting the orchestra.

“Eugene Onegin” will be performed on April 1, 3, and 5, 2022.
