The Dallas Opera has announced a cast change for its upcoming production of Verdi’s “Don Carlo.”

The company announced that Lucas Meachem will replace Mariusz Kwiecień in the role of Rodrigo.

The upcoming production will mark Meachem’s role debut as Rodrigo and his second production at the Dallas Opera this season. He will perform Figaro in “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” in the spring. Meachem has performed at some of the most prestigious theaters in the world including the Metropolitan Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, Wiener Staatsoper, and San Francisco Opera.

Meachem joins a cast that includes Jamie Barton, Leah Crocetto, Robert Watson, Morris Robinson, and Andrea Silvestrelli.

Emmanuel Villaume conducts the production which opens on March 20 and runs through March 28, 2020.
