Conductor Dalia Stasevska was awarded the Conductor Award from the 2020 Royal Philharmonic Society.

The Conductor Award panel was made up of Dougie Scarfe (Chief Executive, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra); Jo Buckley (Chief Executive, Dunedin Consort); Sian Edwards (conductor); Zoe Beyers (Co-Leader, BBC Philharmonic); Linton Stephens (Bassoon, Chineke!).

“It is a tremendous honor to receive the Conductor’s Royal Philharmonic Society Award and an enormous thank you to the RPS. The UK holds a very special place for me. I feel this award also goes to the BBC Symphony Orchestra with whom I have started a musical journey as their Principal Guest Conductor,” Stasevska stated in a press release.

Stasevska will conduct the BBC Symphony Orchestra on Dec. 13, 2020 in a performance of the third movement from Sibelius’ Symphony No. 5, Ives’ “The Unanswered Question,” and the first movement of Mahler’s Symphony No. 10.

The ceremony, which was filed, will be streamed via the RPS Awards’ website on Nov. 23, 2020.

The other two nominees include Martyn Brabbins and Jonathan Heyward.
