Czech Philharmonic Announces Cast Change for Beethoven Symphony No.9
By Francisco SalazarThe Czech Philharmonic has announced a cast change for its May 1, 2, and 3 concerts.
The company said that Iwona Sobotka will sing the soprano role in Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 replacing Lyubov Petrova.
Sobotka has performed with such companies as the Chicago Opera Theater, Teatro Real, Osterfestspiele Baden-Baden, Perm State Opera, the Polish National Opera, and Opera Podlaska.
She joins a cast that includes alto Lucie Hilscherová, tenor Norbert Ernst, and bass Florian Boesch. Semyon Bychkov conducts the Czech Philharmonic and Prague Philharmonic Choir in a concert that will be performed at the Rudolfinum — Dvořák Hall.
