Curtis Institute of Music to Present ‘Ned Rorem Celebration Concert
By David SalazarCurtis Institute of Music is set to present a concert in honor of composer Ned Rorem.
The “Ned Rorem Celebration Concert,” which is set for April 2, 2024 at 7 p.m. local time, will feature soprano Sarah Fleiss, mezzo-soprano Katie Trigg, baritone Jarrett Ott, and pianist Miloš Repický.
The showcase features works by Rorem including “Early in the Morning,” “I am Rose,” “The Serpent,” the “Santa Fe Songs,” the Piano Sonata No. 2, and “On an Echoing Road,” among many others.
Rorem, a 1944 graduate of Curtis, is a Grammy Award-winner and composer of three symphonies, 10 operas, and numerous choral works and song cycles, among others.
