Cumbria Opera Group Announces 2021 Season

The Cumbria Opera Group has announced the 2021 season.

The festival based in Kendal, U.K. will open with an Education Workshop followed by an Open Rehearsal for “Così fan tutte.”

Performance Date: Sept. 4, 2021

Roderick Williams OBE will give a recital alongside Christopher Glynn at the Penrith Methodist Church.

Performance Date: Sept. 4, 2021

The festival will present a Jazz Opera Double Bill including “A Hand of Bridge” and “Trouble in Tahiti.”

Performance Date: Sept. 5, 2021

Caroline Taylor and George Needham is set to present a recital at the St Mary’s Church, Ambleside. The program will be dedicated to R. Strauss, Debussy, Lehár, and Johann Strauss.

Performance Date: Sept. 6, 2021

The festival will also present An Evening of Opera which will showcase two-star soloists on separate evenings presenting highlights from the opera repertory. Lixin Liu and Maximilian Lawrie are soloists. Performances will take place at the Tithe Barn, Carlisle, and Appleby Public Hall.

Performance Dates: Sept. 7 & 8, 2021

The festival will close with Mozart’s “Così fan tutte.”

Performance Dates: Sept. 9 & 11, 2021

Joan Rodgers will be in Conversation and give a Young Artists’ Masterclass.

Performance Date: Sept. 10, 2021
