CueTV to Stream Theater an der Wien’s ‘Zaza’

CueTV is set to present “Zazà” starting on Nov. 4, 2021.

The Leoncavallo opera is a performance from the Theater an der Wien that dates from 2020.

The opera was directed by Christof Loy with conductor Stefan Soltész leading a cast that includes Svetlana Aksenova, Enkelejda Shkosa, Dorothea Herbert, Juliette Mars, Nikolai Schukoff, Vittoria Antonuzzo, Christopher Maltman, Tobias Greenhalgh, Paul Schweinester, Ivan Zinoviev, Johannes Bamberger, Patrick Maria Kühn, Ena Topčibašić and Liliya Namisnyk.

“Zaza” tells the story of a French music hall singer and her affair with Milio, who she discovers is married. The work had its world premiere in 1900 and is one of the composer’s most popular works, alongside his renowned “Pagliacci.”

The opera will stream at 2 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. GMT.
