Corinne Winters, Klaus Florian Vogt & Aigul Akhmetshina Among 2025 Oper! Award Winners

The Oper! Awards have announced its 2025 awards.

The ceremony which took place on Feb. 21, 2025, at La Monnaie / De Munt, which was awarded the Best Opera House prize.

Corinne Winters was awarded the Best Female Singer of the Year award, while Klaus Florian Vogt won Best Male Singer.

Pablo Heras-Casado won Best Conductor and Tobias Kratzer won Best Director.

The Best Orchestra and Choir award went to the Ensemble Pygmalion while the Best World Premiere was given to “Die Jüdin von Toledo” at the Semperoper Dresden.

“The Idiot” at the Salzburg Festival won Best Production while Best Rediscovery was awarded to “Amerika” at Opera Zurich.

Best Stage Designer and Best Costume Designer were awarded to Christophe Coppens while Aigul Akhmetshina’s “Aigul” album was awarded Best Solo Album.

The Best Opera Recording was awarded to “Le prophète” from the LSO Live.

Maayan Licht won Best Newcomer while Copenhagen Opera Festival won Best Future Project.

Meanwhile, Opernfestspiele Heidenheim was presented with the Best Festival award while François Duplat took home the Best Benefactor prize.

Finally, Peter Konwitschny was presented with the Honorary Lifetime Achievement award, and Berlin’s Cultural Policy was awarded Biggest Nuisance.
