Coro Lirico Siciliano Tours France & Spain With ‘Carmen’

The Coro Lirico Siciliano is in the midst of a major tour around Spain and France.

Starting on Oct. 16, the ensemble has been moving around different cities with a unique production of “Carmen” under the musical direction of Martin Mázik. The Roberta Mattelli production has featured two casts including Rachele Raggiotti and Annunziata Vestri in the title role with Francesca Bruni and Yeonjoo Park as Micaëla. In the role of Don José, audiences have heard David Baños and Eduardo Sandoval with Thomas Weinhappel and Giulio Boschetti as Escamillo.

In other roles, audiences have heard Stephanie Van der Goes, Robertaa Mattelli, Gaetano Triscari, Filiberto Bruno, and Pietro Picone.

The production started at Alcobendas before heading to Aguilas, Cartagena, Torrevieja, Valdepeñas, Guadalajara, Ribaroja, Zaragoza, Faro, Gandia, Almeria, Vall d’Uixó throughout October.

The November slate of performances kicks off in Pozuelo on Nov. 6 before heading to Toledo (Nov. 7), Logroño (Nov. 9), Lorca (Nov. 11), Torrent (Nov. 12), Villena (Nov. 13), Requena (Nov. 14), Cadiz (Nov. 18), Pozoblanco (Nov. 19), Adra (Nov. 20), Castres (Nov. 23), Carcassonne (Nov. 24), and Merignac (Nov. 25). The tour ends on Nov. 26 in Le Vesinet.
