Corinne Winters, Saimir Pirgu & Roberta Mantegna Lead Teatro dell’Opera di Roma’s 2021 Summer Season

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma has announced its summer festival, which will return to the Circo Massimo from June 15 to August 6, 2021.

The first opera the season will be a new production of Verdi’s Il Trovatore with Daniele Gatti conducting and Lorenzo Mariani directing. The cast will include Fabio Sartori and Piero Pretti in the role of Manrico, Roberta Mantegna as Leonora, Clémentine Margaine as Azucena, Christopher Maltman, and Giovanni Meoni as Conte di Luna. The cast will be rounded out by Marco Spotti, Marianna Mappa, and Domingo Pellicola.

Performance Dates: June 15-July 6, 2021

Puccini’s Madama Butterfly returns in Àlex Ollé’s production conducted by Donato Renzetti. Corinne Winters sings the title role alongside Adriana Di Paola, Saimir Pirgu, Angelo Villari, and Andrzej Filończyk.

Performance Dates: July 16-August 6, 2021

Myung-Whun Chung conducts Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with soloists Krassimira Stoyanova, Daniela Barcellona, Saimir Pirgu, and Michele Pertusi.

Performance Date: July 24, 2021

Puccini’s “La bohème will be conducted by Jordi Bernàcer in a production by Davide Livermore. The opera will star Vittoria Yeo, Piero Pretti, Luca Micheletti, Simone Del Savio, Andrea Mastroni, Sara Blanch, and Domenico Colaianni.
