Corinne Winters & Raehann Bryce-Davis Lead Ducth National Opera’s ‘Pagliacci’ & ‘Cavalleria Rusticana’

On Sept. 5, the Dutch National Opera is set to open its 2025-26 season with the double bill “Pagliacci” by Ruggero Leoncavallo and “Cavalleria rusticana” by Pietro Mascagni.

The production by Robert Carsen will be revived with Italian conductor Andrea Battistoni leading the two verismo masterpieces.

The production will showcase Raehann Bryce-Davis returning to Amsterdam for her role debut as Santuzza, while soprano Corinne Winters and SeokJong Baek will make their house debuts as Nedda and Canio, respectively. The production will also feature Riccardo Massi, Roman Burdenko, Hubert Zapiór, Enkelejda Shkoza, and Maria Warenberg.

The operas will be performed seven times through Sept. 23, 2026.
