Corinne Winters & Ermonela Jaho Headline New CD/DVD Releases – September 16

This week, three rarities will be released on DVD and CD. One is a world premiere recording while the other two come from successful productions in 2018-19. Here is a look!

The Bassarids

Sean Panikkar stars in Henze’s opera that premiered last year at the Salzburg Festival. Arthaus Musik releases the new DVD, also starring Russell Braun, Nikolai Schukoff, and Tanja Ariane Baumgartner.

Kent Nagano conducts the production, which received raves last summer.

Pelleas et Melisande

Jacques Imbrailo and Corinne Winters star in Debussy’s only opera in a production from the Opernhaus Zürich. The two are joined by Kyle Ketelsen in his signature role, as well as Brindley Sherrat, and Yvonne Naef.

Alain Altinoglu conducts Dmitri Tcherniakov’s production as released by BelAir.

Le Willis 

Opera Rara releases Puccini’s first-ever opera with Ermonela Jaho, Brian Mulligan and Arsen Soghomonyan headlining the cast.

Sir Mark Elder conducts the London Philharmonic for the new release.
