Connecticut Virtuosi Unveils 2026-27 Season

The Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra has announced vocal and operatic programming for its 2026 to 2027 season, led by conductor Adrian Sylveen. Here are the vocal performances on the slate.

Bass baritone Laurentiu Rotaru is the soloist in the world premiere of Jakub Polaczyk’s “Pacierz Staropolski” for baritone and orchestra. The program also includes Sylveen’s variation on “Góralu, czy ci nie żal?” with text by M. Bałucki.

Performance Date: Oct. 11, 2026


Then comes Szymanowski’s “Stabat Mater” and the world premiere of Tracz’s “In Via,” a meditation on Pope John Paul II. The Moniuszko Choir, the Polonia Children Choir and Schola Cantorum perform.

Performance Dates: Oct. 25 & Nov. 1, 2026


Rotaru is the soloist in Polaczyk’s “Pacierz Staropolski.” Sylveen conducts.

Performance Dates: Nov. 5 &6, 2026


Next up is the annual Christmas program with the Moniuszko Choir.

Performance Date: Dec. 6, 2026


Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” is presented in three performances.

Performance Dates: Jan. 21 – 24, 2027


Verdi’s “La Traviata” concludes the season.

Performance Date: May & June 2027
