Connecticut Virtuosi Announces 2023-24 Season

The Connecticut Virtuosi has announced its 2023-24 season. Here is a rundown of the vocal events in store for audiences.

Frst up is “Vissi d’arte,” a concert in tribute to Maria Callas featuring soprano Jurate Svedaite.

Performance Dates: Oct. 8 & 15, 2023

The company will then join forces with the Connecticut Lyric Opera to honor the latter’s 20th anniversary. The gala will feature such artists as Daniel Juarez, Jurate Švedaitė, Steve Frederiks, Stefan Szkafarowsky, Robert Garner, and Stephanie Foster as they take on iconic musical moments from the most renowned operas.

Performance Dates: Nov. 12 & 18, 2023

The company will then present a holiday concert dedicated to Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” and Christmas carols, featuring the Moniuszko Choir.

Performance Dates: Dec. 10, 2023

The company then joins forces with the Connecticut Lyric Opera to present Saint-Saëns’ “Oratorio de Noël,” Op. 12. Soloists include Kelly Whitesell, Anna Kelly, Emily Gregonis, Rebecca de Almeida, Seth Allen, Ed Napier, John Gibney, and David Kennedy. Adrian Sylveen conducts.

Performance Dates: Dec. 17, 2023

Then the Connecticut Virtuosi and Connecticut Lyric Opera will present Pucini’s “Madama Butterfly.”

Performance Dates: May 18 & 19, 2024
