Conductor Matthew Straw Joins Maestro Arts

American conductor Matthew Straw has joined the roster of Maestro Arts roster. He will be managed by Rachel van Walsum.

Straw’s conducting career has been marked by notable achievements. In 2022, he made his debut with the Rochester Philharmonic and served as Associate Conductor at Des Moines Metro Opera. As an assistant conductor, he has also worked with such organizations and conductors as Kazushi Ono and the Brussels Philharmonic, as well as Ilan Volkov and the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.

At 25 years old, he has already been appointed Assistant Conductor of the Utah Symphony and has received international invitations to prestigious events such as the Aspen Music Festival and Salzburg Festival. He has also been honored with the Solti Foundation Career Assistance Award for a second time, becoming the youngest-ever recipient in 2022.

He is also a composer and trained in ballet from a young age.

He joins a roster of artists that includes opera stars Allan Clayton, Topi Lehtipuu, and Clara Mouritz.
