Conductor Dalia Stasevska Criticized by Right Wing Conspiracy Theorist Dinesh D’Souza for Being Expressive

Conservative author, filmmaker, and podcaster Dinesh D’Souza is criticizing conductor Dalia Stasevska for moving too much while conducting Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9.

In a post to X formerly known as Twitter, D’Souza said, “Someone should run up to the front and yank this self-serving conductor out of there. She’s ruining it! It’s not all about the conductor; it’s about the music. Let the music take center stage.”

D’Souza must have never gone to the symphony as most conductors men and women, move expressively on the podium according to the feeling of the music or piece they are conducting. But the conservative is not new to conspiracy theories or irrelevant takes.

He was a birther who said President Obama was not born in the United States and said that the Clintons had murdered people. He also suggested that the insurrectionists on January 6 were “a bunch of rowdy people walking through a hallway” and has said that the FBI ” is the largest criminal gang in the country.” However, his conspiracy theories have been widely seen in documentaries that have made millions of dollars including his latest, “Vindicating Trump” which made over a million dollars in the United States.

Stasevska is an acclaimed conductor who is currently the Chief Conductor of the Lahti Symphony Orchestra and Artistic Director of the International Sibelius Festival. She is also the Principal Guest Conductor to the BBC Symphony Orchestra. She debuted at BBC Proms debut in 2019 and conducted the Last Night of the Proms in 2020. This season she conducts the Oslo Philharmonic, Orchestre Symphonie de Montreal, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, and New World Symphony, among many others.
