Concurso de Canto de Logroño Unveils 2024 Winners
By David SalazarThe Concurso de Canto de Logroño has announced the winners of its 2024 edition.
Soprano Laura Brasó and Baritone Carlos Reynoso have been crowned as the winners of the first prize in the female and male categories, respectively. First prize winners take home 5,000 euros plus the trophy. Reynoso was also given the Trofeo Antón García Abril for Best Spanish Song Interpreter; he will get to perform a recital alongside pianist Rubén Fernández Aguirre during the 2024-25 season. Meanwhile, Brasó also won the Premio Amigos de la Ópera de Madrid and will get a chance to present a paid recital at the Teatro de la Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid; that recital comes with a payment of 2,000 euros.
Second place in the Female category went to Sofía Gutiérrez and third went to Ainhoa Lópeez de Munaín. In the male category, the second prize was given to Pablo Puértolas and the third went to Eduardo Pomarés.
Meanwhile, Andrés Sánchez Joglar was the recipient of the Prize for Best Zarzuela interpreter. Rosa María Gomáriz won the Trofeo C.L.A. Pepe Eizaga for best opera interpreter while Javier Blanco was awarded as the most promising voice. Sofía Gutiérrez also took home the Trofeo Ópera de Oviedo and the opportunity to perform in one of the company’s forthcoming productions.
The winners will get a chance to perform a concert at the Teatro de la Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid on Oct. 5, 2024.
