Concorso Lirico Internazionale ‘Giuseppe Di Stefano’ Announces 2023 Winners

The XVIII Concorso Lirico Internazionale “Giuseppe Di Stefano” has announced the 2023 winners.

This year’s winners were tenor Ou Shengwu from China, baritone Pierpaolo Martella from Italy, mezzo-soprano Sayumi Kaneko from Japan, baritone Ettore Ma from China, bass-baritone Mariano Orozco from Argentina, and soprano Sara Semilia from Italy.

Each winner will perform a role in a production of Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” conducted by Daniele Agiman. The production will be staged at the 2023 summer season from the Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese.

The competition named winners for the Maria Callas Gala which included three Italian singers, Mario Luciano Alboreto Greco, Edera Murciano, and Maria Cristina Napoli.

The Premio “Amici della Musica” was awarded to bass Antonino Arcilesi and Maria Cristina Napoli. Napoli also won the Premio Menzione speciale “Francesco Braschi – Kiwanis Club Trapani.”

Meanwhile, Mario Luciano Alboreto Greco, Edera Murciano, and Ou Shengwu won the Premio BJM Management. Shengwu won the Premio Rossini in Wildbad while the Premio speciale went to Murciano.
