Concorso Internazionale Voci Verdiane Città di Busseto Returns After Two Years

The Comune di Busseto has announced the 58° Concorso Internazionale Voci Verdiane Città di Busseto which will be realized in honor and memory of Carlo Bergonzi.

Stefano Nevicati, the Mayor of Busseto, will preside over the competition while Teatro Regio di Parma will organize it.

The competition, which will return after two years of cancelations due to COVID-19, will be open to singers between 18 and 35 and will be held in Busseto from June 13 to 18, 2022.

The competition will award the first prize “Carlo Bergonzi” 3,000 euros while the second prize winner will receive 2,500 euros from Lions Club Busseto “Giuseppe Verdi.” Finally, the third prize winner will receive 1,000 euros. The winner of Best Female voice will also receive il Premio speciale Renata Tebaldi which is equivalent to 1,000 euros.

Winners, semifinalists, and finalists will be engaged to perform during the Festival Verdi and Verdi Off 2022. The jury will be presided by Teatro Regio di Parma General Director Anna Maria Meo and exponents from teh Musical world.

Winners will be announced on June 17, 2022, at the end of the finals concert.
