By David Salazar

Concerts at Saint Thomas is set to celebrate the holiday season with holiday favorites on Dec. 10, 12, and 19 2019.

The first two performances are set to showcase Handel’s famed “Messiah” alongside New York Baroque Incorporated. The performance will be conducted by Saint Thomas Organist and Director of Music, Jeremy Filsell, with soprano Sherezade Panthanki, alto Roger Isaacs, tenor Rufus Müller, and bass Jonathan Woody as the soloists. The New York Times has named the annual tradition ““one of the most prominent and special [Messiahs] of the city.”

On Dec. 19, the Concerts at Saint Thomas will turn to Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols,” which will feature harpist Sara Cutler alongside The Boys of the Saint Thomas Choir. Filsell will conduct with Benjamin Sheen at The Miller-Scott Organ.

All three performances will take place at Saint Thomas Church in New York City.
