Concerts at Saint Thomas Announce 2021-22 Season

Concerts at Saint Thomas in New York City has announced its 2021-22 season.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal performances.

The Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys will perform a concert dedicated to the “Legacy of Gerre Hancock.” They will be accompanied by cellist Myron Lutzke, organist Nicolas Haigh, and conductor Jeremy Filsell.

Performance Date: Oct. 14, 2021

The Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys and New York Baroque Incorporated will present Händel’s “Messiah.” Soloists include Sarah Brailey, Kirsten Sollek, Rufus Müller, and David John Pike. Jeremy Filsell conducts.

Performance Date: Dec. 7 & 9, 2021

The Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys will perform a concert entitled “Christmas on Fifth Avenue. They will be accompanied by harpist Parker Ramsay, organist Nicolas Haigh, and conductor Jeremy Filsell.

Performance Date: Dec. 16, 2021

Countertenor David Moody and tenor John Ramseyer will dedicate an evening to music by Nico Muhly alongside pianists David Fung and Jeremy Filsell.

Performance Date: Feb. 3, 2022

The Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys, The Choir of Trinity Wall Street, the Trinity Youth Chorus, New York Baroque Incorporated, and Trinity Baroque Orchestra will present Bach’s St. Matthew Passion. Thomas Cooley plays the Evangelist while Jonathan Woody is Jesus. Julian Wachner conducts.

Performance Date: March 29 & 31, 2022

Countertenor Ryland Angel and the Queens Baroque Ensemble perform Vivaldi’s “Stabat Mater.” Nicolas Haigh performs at the organ.

Performance Date: April 12, 2022

The Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys and New York Baroque Incorporated will present music by Händel. Jeremy Filsell conducts with mezzo-soprano Sarah Rose Taylor as the soloist.

Performance Date: May 12, 2022
