Renowned composer Jeanine Tesori has just signed an agreement to promote and publish her operatic works on G. Schirmer.

Tesori is an major award-winner who is among the first women commissioned to write an opera for the Metropolitan Opera. Her operas include “Blue,” “A Blizzard on Marblehead Neck,” and “The Lion, the Unicorn and Me.”

Her next work, “Grounded,” will be performed at the Metropolitan Opera.

“We are honored to welcome Jeanine to our roster of composers,” said Robert Thompson, President of G. Schirmer in a press release. “I have been in awe of her compositional voice, and the depth of emotion in her writing, ever since hearing her Tony Award-winning score to ‘Fun Home.'”

“It gives me great joy to enter into a partnership with the iconic music publisher, G. Schirmer, Inc. My grandfather, composer Dominic Vento, was never able to fulfill the same dream, having work available on a global scale. I honor his ambition in the music I write, and my gratitude to him and the Schirmer family knows no bounds,” added Tesori.
