Cliburn Concerts Announces Update to Programming

The Cliburn Concerts series has announced an update to its Jan. 29, 2026 concert.

The company said, “Shelén Hughes Camacho and Joseph Parrish replace Nicole Car, soprano, and Étienne Dupuis, baritone, who had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances.”

Hughes Camacho and Parrish will make their Cliburn Concerts debut with pianist Amir Farid performing.

The program will include music by Johnson, Caba. Buchardo, Aguirre, Gustavino, Nazareth, Villa-Lobos, Telson, Hathaway, Verdi, Gershwin, Vandross, Ponce, Burleigh, Dougherty, Claire, Lerner and Lowe, and Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Hughes Camacho is a winner of the George and Nora Foundation 2025 Competition, third place winner in the 2025 Gerda Lissner Opera Competition, a winner of the 2024 Opera Index Competition, and first-place winner of the 2024 Gerda Lissner Zarzuela Competition. Parrish performs with the Ames Town & Gown Series, Harriman-Jewell Series, Detroit Chamber Music Society, Newport Classical, Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival, Caramoor’s Schwab Vocal Rising Stars, and Death of Classical.
