Cleveland Orchestra To Feature Numerous Choirs During Holiday Concert Series

The Cleveland Orchestra is gearing up for a busy holiday season.

The ensemble is set to perform a whopping 12 Christmas Concerts between Dec. 13-22 at Severance Hall. The concerts, which will be conducted by Richard Kaufman, will also feature the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, Blossom Festival Chorus, Cleveland Orchestra Children’s Chorus, Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus Chamber Ensemble, the Wooster Chorus from The College of Wooster, Cleveland State University Chorale, and Ursuline College Choir.

This series of concerts will feature famed holiday hits by such composers as Rimsky-Korsakov, Britten, Paulus, Chabrier, Handel, Williams, Broughton, Anderson, Blane, and Gruber, among others.

Then the company will feature Frank Capra’s “It’s a Wonderful Life” in Concert with the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus. Vinay Parameswaran conducts the performance scheduled for Dec. 12, 2019 at Severance Hall. The orchestra will also featured a Christmas Brass Quintet on Dec. 13 and 14.
