Cleveland Opera Theater to Stream “Amahl and the Night Visitors” in Support of The City Mission’s Women Shelter

By Logan Martell

On December 17, 2020, Cleveland Opera Theater will continue its yearly tradition of presenting Gian Carlo Menotti’s “Amahl and the Night Visitors.”

Led by music and artistic directors Domenico Boyagian and Scott Skiba, the cast includes Maya Ciurcel as Amahl and Amber Munroe as his mother. Benjamin Bunsold, Jonathan Stuckey and Cy McFarlin play kings Kaspar, Melchior, and Balthazar, respectively.

The showcase kicks off at 7 p.m. EST.

This online production will be available to stream free of charge, thanks to support from the Kulas Foundation, and 100 percent of the donations received will go towards supporting The City Mission’s Laura’s Home Women’s Crisis Center. In 2019, 732 women and children took refuge at Laura’s Home and 67 women and families found housing thanks to the organization. Additionally, Laura’s Home served over 81,000 meals to those in need throughout 2019.
