Clarion Choir Reveals 2024-25 Season Featuring Dame Ethel Smyth, Mozart, Bach, Rachmaninoff

The Clarion Choir has unveiled its 2024-25 season.

First up is “Rachmaninoff @150: Spring Cantata and Folk Songs.” The showcase will feature baritone Aleksey Bogdanov taking on “Spring” as well as pianist Ilya Maximov playing the composer’s third piano concerto. Steven Fox conducts. Also on the program is NOVUS Amor Artist.

Performance Date: Oct. 30, 2024

The New Year’s concert will feature works by Rachmaninoff, Bruckner, Gabrilli, Levine, and Spirituals arranged by William Dawson. Steven Fox conducts.

Performance Date: Dec. 31, 2024 & Jan. 1, 2025

Then comes Dame Ethel Smyth’s “Mass in D” alongside Mozart’s “Meistermusik,” K. 477. The Clarion Choir is joined by the Cathedral Choral Society and Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Steven Fox conducts.

Performance Date: March 16, 2025

The season concludes with Bach’s “St. John Passion.” Steven Fox conducts.

Performance Date: April 2, 2025
