Mezzo-soprano Clara Osowski is set to headline a set of February concerts at The Schubert Club as part of the organization’s Season 18 of Accordo, the string collective composed of principal string players of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and Minnesota Orchestra.
Osowski will be joined by pianist Robert McDonald for a program of Brahms and Mahler, including the former’s “Two Songs,” Op. 91 for voice, viola, and piano, followed by Stéphane Fromageot’s arrangement of Mahler’s “Rückert-Lieder.” The program concludes with Dvořák’s Piano Trio in F Minor, Op. 65.
Osowski is an active soloist and chamber musician and serves as Artistic Director of the Source Song Festival in Minneapolis. Her career highlights include a Wigmore Hall debut recital, appearances with the Kansas City Symphony and Handel and Haydn Society, and a second-place finish at Thomas Quasthoff’s International Das Lied Competition in Heidelberg.
The Feb. 1 concert will take place at Westminster Hall while the one on Feb. 2 is set for the Icehouse.
