City Lyric Opera to Present ‘Uncovered’

By Francisco Salazar

City Lyric Opera will present the New York premiere of Lori Laitman’s new opera “Uncovered.”

The work, which is based on Leah Lax’s groundbreaking memoir “Uncovered: How I Left Hasidic Life and Finally Came Home,” will be performed at HERE Arts Center from Nov. 16-19, 2022.

The production will be conducted by Jackson McKinnon and directed by Beth Greenberg. Soprano Rachel Policar will star as Leah.

The 2022-23 season will also include a production of Verdi’s “La Traviata” with Michelle Rofrano conducting and Rebecca Miller Kratzer directing.
