City Lyric Opera Reveals 2020-21 Season, to Preview First #Realwomenofopera Production

The City Lyric Opera has announced its 2020-21 season, the fifth in the company’s history, which features three mainstage productions.

The season kicks off with a #realwomenofopera production previewing Lori Laitman’s “Uncovered.” City Lyric Opera is production the New York City premiere which will take palce in the fall of 2021.

Performance Dates: Oct. 9-10, 2020 (Preview)

The season will continue with Kurt Weill’s “Threepenny Opera.”

“City Lyric Opera is excited to tell this story in such a timely fashion when our society is so politically divided and is only perpetuated by the growing wealth disparity,” said a press release from the company.

Performance Dates: Nov. 12-15, 2020

The season will come to an end with a production of Verdi’s “La Traviata,” written by Piave.

Performance Dates: May 2021

All casting will be announced at a later date.
